I was thinking the other day how said it was to see Marion Jones have to give back her five gold medals.  She was also fined $100,000 and is banned from the sport for two years.  She could also face up to one year in jail.  If that isn’t bad enough, they are asking that her relay team also give back their medals.

 Why does it seem that we have to hit rock bottom to learn our lessons.  You would think that she would know better, especially since her ex-husband was busted for the same thing, as well as her baby’s daddy who is another track and field star.

I heard someone say, sin will take you further than you want to go.  It will cost you more than you want to spend, and will keep you longer than you want to stay.  Hidden areas of sin will always be exposed in our lives. Not only do they affect us, they affect our loved ones as well.  Do you have hidden sin in your life? 

Galatians 6:7 Do not be decieved; God is not mocked.  For whatever a man sows he will also reap.  Because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit.

I was asked by someone how I felt about the whole Patriots spy camera issue.  The person was a die hard pats fan and said, “it is ridiculous, I mean everyone in the league is doing it.”  I thought that is exactly the same reasoning that we use to excuse the sin that is in our lives.  “So what, everyone is doing it.”

So we justify cursing, becasue they are just words.  We justify fornication because everyone is doing it.  We justify luying because we don’t want to hurt the person’s feelings.  And we justify cheating because we are just trying to get the edge.  By doing this we move closer and closer to the edge of the cliff of destruction, trying our best not to fall over.

James 4:17  For the person who knows to do good and doesn’t do it.   To him it is sin.  This simply means if you know that something is wrong, by doing it makes it a sin.  Like it or not, choose to receive it or not, whether you believe it or not; its the Truth.
